Mission Statement: A Balanced and Inclusive Approach to Fiqh
The uniqueness of our mission lies in its breadth and neutrality. We do not impose the views of a single school of thought (Maslak) or a single Imam. Instead, we open the doors to the rich diversity of Islamic legal tradition, grounded in the primary sources of Islam.
1. The Four Schools of Thought (Mazahib)
We present the perspectives of the Four Major Schools of Law (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi’i, and Hanbali).
- The Goal: To show the beauty of diversity within the framework of unity.
- Respect for Scholars: By honoring the differing viewpoints of the Great Imams, we teach the learner to respect different interpretations of Islamic law.
2. Rooted in Quran, Hadith, and Sahaba
While we present various legal views, our foundation remains unshakable:
- Primary Sources: Every discussion is anchored in the Holy Quran and the Sahih Hadith.
- The Legacy of the Sahaba: We incorporate the lives and decisions of the Companions of the Prophet (PBUH) to provide a practical and historical context for these rulings.
3. Empowerment of the Learner
Our role is to educate, not to dictate.
- No Imposition: We provide the details, the evidence, and the context from different schools of thought, but we leave the final decision to the learner.
- Freedom of Choice: This approach ensures that the learner develops a personal connection with the Deen and understands the Hikmah (wisdom) behind different scholarly opinions.
4. Education Over Sectarianism
The clear objective of this segment is to promote the commands of Islam as a whole, rather than promoting any specific sect or Maktaba-e-Fikar.
- Broadening Horizons: We aim to remove the narrow-mindedness that often comes from limited knowledge.
- True Marifat: By understanding the different ways to apply Allah’s commands, a Muslim gains a more profound and complete Marifat of the Shariah.
